Operations Manager - Service Reliability Engineer (H/F)

Purpose

 

A Senior Service Reliability Engineer is required to:

- Provide accurate expert proposal and advice on how the latest technologies can be used to create new value proposition (Stability, Agility and cost). Lead the implementation of new value proposition. Work with end users and stakeholders in a collaborative way to achieve incremental delivery focused on value.

- Provide accurate expert proposal and advice on how to improve existing value proposition (Stability, Agility and cost). Lead the implementation of improvement. Work with end users and stakeholders in a collaborative way to achieve incremental delivery focused on value.

- Provide accurate expert proposal and advice on how to decrease run activities in our organization. Lead the implementation of improvement. Work with stakeholders in a collaborative way to achieve incremental delivery of such improvements.

 

Key accountabilities

 

- Provide technical and business leadership in the architecture, design and implementation of solutions.

- Implement end to end solutions with focus on business outcome

- Lead technical projects to deliver value oriented changes.

- Evaluate cutting-edge technologies and integrate them into existing system.

- Implement the deployment architecture - high availability, fail-over,

- performance and scalability

- Second level support of new deployed technologies for investigation, trouble shooting and resolution of incidents and problems

 

 

Profil recherché :

 

Education

 

University degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.

 

Relevant work experience

 

- Over 8 year experience working in the Software Engineering discipline or operation automation discipline

- Over 2 year experience in big scale (100+ nodes) Hadoop Production cluster administration, production support (on-call) and vendor management for critical issue remediation. Mapr vendor experience would be a plus.

- Previous experience performing successful leadership roles on technical projects a must.

 

Specific competencies

 

- Experience with Hadoop (Mapr preferred) cluster administration and architecture

- Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive, Oozie, Hdfs/mapr-fs)

- Ability to use and adapt a wide variety of open source technologies and tools

- Ability to code and script (java, C++, php, python, perl, Ruby...)

- Experience with systems, data stores and IT operations

- Experience in RnD and G-OPS organization

- Experience with internal automation applications

- Experience with Big Data Hardware templates and vendors

- Strong grasp of automation tools and framework (Ansible, Puppet)

- Data management skills (capacity planning, Data flow benchmarking)

- A strong focus on business outcomes

- Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders

- Ability to lead technical initiatives and projects
